AMIGOpy

AMIGOpy (A Medical Image-based Graphical platfOrm – Python) is an educational platform designed to support both teaching and research in radiotherapy. Leveraging VTK for high-quality 3D image rendering, AMIGOpy enables users to visualize treatment plans, perform dosimetric analysis and calculations, and interactively work with a wide range of medical images, including DICOM, Nifti, and TIFF formats. The platform offers modules for image contouring, segmentation, and registration, as well as tools for radiochromic film dosimetry and dual-energy CT analysis. What sets AMIGOpy apart is its user-friendly interface and the accessibility of advanced radiotherapy features that are typically restricted to specialized software found only in clinical or advanced research settings, making these capabilities more widely available for educational and research purposes.
